Current degree-seeking students have access to Workday, RISD's student information system, where they may view grades, academic history, class schedules, academic progress, and other student account information. Students may also access their Academic Progress report through Workday, which identifies degree requirements and is used for academic advising and degree audit purposes. In some cases, faculty provide narrative evaluations in addition to grades. Narrative evaluations are an important component of student assessment and are strongly encouraged in studio courses; however, they are not considered part of the student's official academic record.
Access to Workday requires a RISD username and password. Students receive access once their RISD account has been activated. Students experiencing difficulty accessing Workday should contact Information Technology Services at (401) 454-6106 or servicedesk@risd.edu.
Current students, including those on a leave of absence, have continuous access to their Workday accounts. Students who are withdrawn from RISD will lose access once the withdrawal has been processed, as they are no longer considered active students. Access will be restored upon reinstatement to the College. Questions regarding account access should be directed to Information Technology Services.
Faculty advisors have access through Workday to the academic records of their assigned advisees. Faculty also use Workday to view class rosters, distribute course materials, submit final grades, and issue midterm warnings.
