The academic transcript is a complete and permanent record of a student's academic history at RISD, including all courses attempted and grades earned. Official transcripts are issued in chronological order by term and bear the signature of the Registrar and the institutional seal. Because the transcript constitutes a permanent academic record, requests to remove courses, grades, or other academic information from the transcript are not considered.

Students and alumni may request an official transcript online through Parchment.

  • Alumni may request an official transcript here.

Electronic PDF transcripts are generally processed within 30 minutes, and printed transcripts are generally processed within 2-4 business days. Processing times may be longer during registration periods and other times of high demand. Delivery of printed transcripts is subject to postal service transit times and may require several additional days.

Some countries outside of the United States require an “Apostille” on the transcript. Apostilles will be processed with the Office of the Rhode Island Secretary of State once RISD receives all required information and payment.

The Registrar’s Office accepts electronic transcripts from the National Student Clearinghouse and Parchment only. Refer to the Registrar’s Office website for further information.
